Christmas or New Year

Meet Santa Claus through a range of activities presented below, or celebrate the New Year in a fairytale land in the heart of Swedish Lapland.

Ski-Touring and Snowshoeing

Ready to strap on your ski-snowshoes and snowshoes around the Laponice base camp to hike or glide through the powder?
This activity is open to everyone.

Moose safari

Go on safari in search of elk, this majestic animal considered "the king of the forest in Swedish Lapland".

Photos at the Arctic Circle sign

A short road trip around Arjeplog to Örnvik, with photos at the Arctic Circle sign—that legendary, imaginary line that encircles the Earth at the North and South Poles.

Dog sledding

Take advantage of this adrenalin-packed ride with Alaska Husky dogs to get some fresh air and relax in the heart of splendid nature.
Activity accessible to all.

Visit of reindeerherder family

Welcome to reindeer herder Lotta, who will guide you to her herd and tell you all about this majestic animal. You can touch them, feed them and take photos.

Snowmobile initiation

Learn to ride a snowmobile on a varied circuit around our base camp, supervised by your guide, and enjoy the thrill of the ride.
Activity accessible to all.

Ice fishing

Put on your snowshoes for a short stroll through the woods, then head for the lake and try your hand at ice fishing. The idea is to make a hole in the ice with a long drill bit (auger), either manual or motorized, and wait for a perch to take the bait.

Museum & Church tour

Visit the museum to learn about Swedish life in the last century, the ever-present Saami culture and the flora and fauna found in Arjeplog. A film in French sums up village life from the past to the present day. For those who wish, visit the beautifully decorated pink Protestant church.

Storytelling Saami

In our famous grillkåta, a guest from the Saami community will come and tell you all about Saami life from the past to the present around the fire. She'll also let you taste a Saami specialty - dried reindeer. You can also ask her questions to learn more about the Saami way of life.

Northern Lights

Your dream of observing the aurora borealis can become a reality! If all the weather conditions are right, we can go out and track down this extraordinary natural light phenomenon.

* From age 12.
